Building a world where all people can be happy
Comunidad Connect is involved in community development activities in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. The $10,000 AllPeopleBeHappy grant is being used to expand Comunidad Connect’s municipal recycling program to three rural communities in the San Juan del Sur municipality. We are working with three rural schools to develop recycling/composting centers and school gardens. By integrating composting into the subsistence farming industry, we will be able to improve the nutrient content of the soil without resorting to borrowing money to purchase expensive chemical fertilizers. In addition, vegetables from the school gardens will improve the students’ diet and generate savings for their families. (www.comunidadconnect.org)
